Tim Carrier is the young adult services manager at the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library in Charlottesville.
Joan Carris, author of Magic at the Bed & Biscuit, is an instructor, writer, and entertainer. She has written 18 children’s books, and most recently created and taught a graduate course in professional writing at the Duke Marine Lab in Beaufort, N.C.
Fred Chandler is the associate head of school for academics at St. Anne’s-Belfield School. In this position, he coordinates the school’s curricular program across four divisions and collaborates with the Village School to co-sponsor the Virginia Festival of the Book’s annual Middle School Poetry & Prose Contest.
Ginjer L. Clarke, author of What’s Up in the Amazon Rainforest and twenty other nonfiction science books, loves getting kids excited about reading, writing, and weird science. Her books have sold a total of more than three million copies worldwide, and she has presented at more than 200 schools and libraries.
Henry Cole is an illustrator who has worked on more than 80 books, including the Moose series. He was born on a dairy farm near Purcellville, Va., and was an elementary science teacher for 16 years.
Winifred Conkling, author of Radioactive!, has written award-winning fiction and nonfiction for young readers, including Sylvia and Aki, winner of the Jane Addams Children’s Literature Award and the Tomás Rivera Award. She received an MFA in writing for children and young adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.
